School of Medicine Guaranteed Admissions Program Application

Please read through the following carefully before applying. This page should not be submitted until after you have submitted your application for admission.

In completing this form you are applying for the School of Medicine Guaranteed Admissions Program (GAP). If you choose to not complete this form we will assume that you are no longer interested in being reviewed for the Pitt Medicine GAP, regardless of if you have selected “Medicine” on your application for admission. Your application for admission will not be affected if you choose not to continue in the GAP application process. The GAP process has no affiliation with or impact on the Honors College application process.

Your application for admission is due by October 15th via Common App or Pitt's application. This webform MUST be submitted along with all other application materials by November 1. This includes test scores (if choosing to submit) and the required Self-Reported Academic Record. Any applications that remain incomplete after November 1 will not be reviewed for the guarantee. Due to the high volume of applications received for this guarantee no exceptions will be made for late applications.

You will first be reviewed for general admission to the University of Pittsburgh and then for the guarantee. Only students who are admitted to the Pittsburgh campus' Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences (any major), the School of Public Health, or Swanson School of Engineering (bioengineering), and who have selected “medicine” in the drop-down question for guaranteed admissions programs on their application for admission are eligible. International students are not eligible for the Pitt Medicine guarantee.

In order to be competitive, applicants should have the following:

At or near the highest GPA in their high school graduating class
1490 SAT or 34 ACT composite score (if submitting test scores)
Medically related experiences and/or research experiences
Community service involvement and/or leadership experience
High interest in the medical field
